In a Galaxy Far, Far Away...
Were four really cute cousins who decided they wanted to save the galaxy from the forces of evil...
Ok, so the galaxy was my front porch, and they actually wanted to rid the neighborhood of any extra candy.
Here are our Halloween costumes {2011}. Jaina as Princess Leia, Jackson as Yoda, Leo as Darth Vader and Eli as Luke Skywalker. Their daddies have been waiting a really long time to see this day. It's true, Erica and I have married geeks...

Leo rocking the Darth look. His catch line, "Luke, I'm your father. E-Y, did you hear me? I said I'm your father."

Eli as sweet Luke Skywalker. The force is strong with this one...

My boys are just the cutest little arch enemies there ever were. :)

**I would play Darth Vader's theme song, and both boys would start clapping and sing along. Every time, Eli would yell, "Go football! Go Lions!"

Trick or Treat {Grandma's House Style}
We headed to my parent's house after we went to the Halloween party. You know, we hadn't done enough that day.
My mom made me noodle soup! It was so amazing and awesome and delicious. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my mom? She rocks my face off! :)
Anyway, we went over, and went to the neighbors house. Aren't we sweet in our costumes?

The boys got entirely too much candy, stayed up entirely too late, but had, oh so much fun!

Halloween Party {Pre-School Friend Style}
Leo's friend, Thomas, and his mom planned an AWESOME Halloween party! Leo and I went in costume this afternoon. It was such a blast! I've gotten to know Rochelle through MOPs. She is such a great lady!
We got out there, took some pictures and headed to the garage.
Here are all the kids in their costumes. I even dressed up! (A special Shout Out to Coryn and Ivy for dressing me!)

First the kids made foam pumpkin magnets. They then colored some Halloween pictures. Next was painting pumpkins, eating snacks and getting ready for the hayride.
Leo loved the hayride! It was his favorite part. :) We stopped in two places to pick up candy bags. They had everything so well planned out. It was just awesome!
Here are Leo and his pre-school buddies. Leo as Darth Vader, Quintin as Bumblebee, Tate as a monkey, and Thomas as a tree.

I'm sad that they'll probably all go on to kindergarten next year. I know Leo will miss them, and I love their moms! I'll miss doing things with them, too!
Thank you so much, Rochelle and Thomas! We had an awesome time!

Fall Festival
I took Leo to the library in town for the Fall Festival. It was awesome! The ladies at the library did such an awesome job preparing! We began with stories and finger plays. Leo was still a little shy at this time, but warmed up as it went along.
His friend, Tate, was there, so they buddied up and had a blast! There were lots of different centers for the kids to go to. Leo loved throwing the beanbags through the spiderweb, writing his name on a leaf, getting his face painted, making a pumpkin, and riding the train.
Thanks to the Friends of the Library for doing such a great job!
Leo and his pumpkin.

Getting his face painted. This lasted about 20 minutes - until we got home and he wanted it off.right.this.minute!

Carving {2011}
This year carving had to work out a little differently. We had planned on doing it Sunday afternoon, because after all, Halloween was Monday. Buuuut, my home town had to go and change trick-or-treating due to football play offs, so we had to move it. Unfortunately, Melia was busy on Friday and couldn't come to the party. It was just not the same. :(
Well, we made do, and did the best we could. :)
Actually, it was E's first time carving. Last year, poor baby, had double ear infection, and was CRABBY, with a capital C! This year he was enjoying it a little more.
In fact, he loved sticking his hands and arms up to the shoulder into the pumpkin guts. It was so fun! He did, however, try to eat an uncooked pumpkin seed. Sick, E!

Eli, my mom, and I had to really talk Leo into getting his hands dirty and touching the guts. It took a lot of talking and bribing and talking and threatening.

But, he did it! And, he loved it! (Who says threatening doesn't work?!?)

Another change this year, Justin didn't touch one single pumpkin. Not one! He said he's lost his will to carve. How sad. :(
Here is a look at our finished products!

I think they turned out fun. :)
And some crazy monster found her way into the picture...hmmm... ;)

The Roast {2011}
Ever since I can remember, we've had a wiener roast at Melia's house. Forever and ever! Even when it snowed, and we roasted marshmallows over candles in their kitchen, and we drank hot chocolate in her room. It is one of my favorite fall memories.
Luckily for me, they still have it! Even more lucky for my boys! Our first attempt this year was wind blown out, so they moved it to today. It was so fun! We all are so busy with our own crazy lives, that don't all get together very often.
Here are a few shots from 2011 "The Roast":
Derek, Ashley & Melia warming up by the fire.

Shae & my mom "signing in" to Shae's book :)

Grandpa Arnie & Julie making an appearance.

Me & my daddy

Justin, Ava, Drew and E playing football/volleyball/tackle/etc.

Shae being E's mommy because I took the night off.

Leo making his very own s'more. WAIT, Ashley, I don't want mine hot! I don't want it with chocolate and I don't want graham crackers... Um, I guess he wanted a marshmallow... Sorry, Ash!

Adrienne making her fire...

She does good work. Doesn't start the grass on fire, unlike someone else I know...

My boys enjoying their 5th and 2nd roasts, respectively.

A HUGE thank you to Melvin and Karen for putting this on every year. The fun, memories, and laughs will be with me forever <3.

Eli {in a Nutshell}
This is Mr. Eli...in a nutshell.

After running away from us in Wal Mart, we confined him to his own cart. And, this is what he thought of that idea!
Eli is now 22 months old! He's doing so many things...
~He is talking up a storm. Most of the time he uses 5-6 word sentences. And they are so funny.
~He loves his "mankie" at night time.
~He is wearing 18-24 month clothes and some 2T.
~He HATES to wear pants, socks or shoes. Give him shorts and Keens, and he's good to go.
~He loves to swing and "shoops" aka shoot hoops.
~He loves to help clean with the brooms and the swiffer.
~Sleeps smack it between Jus and I. Honestly, wouldn't change it for the world! Soon, he'll not even want to be seen beside me!
~Eats everything! Loves tomatoes, avocados, cheese, "mancakes", and "i-cream".
~Hardly cried when he got his flu shot. He's so brave and tough!
~His favorite activity: FOOTBALL! Games, TV, playing outside, watching in person, sleeping with a ball, wearing a shirt. The boy is ObSeSsEd!
~Loves to dance with his momma. :)
~Asks every day, "Where Abrina?" Then answers himself, "College, sad day." :)
~Copies EVERYTHING his big brother does...good or bad...
~Is so sassy! And I LOVE IT!
~His sweet and sassy personality is everything that makes E, E! I wouldn't change him for the world.
Two more months until my forever baby is 2.
Love you, E-Y Will-um!

John D and Bones
Our boys were loving their pjs the other night. Leo always loves Halloween pajamas. He has had "bones" for three years. They glow in the dark, and he thinks they are just awesome. :) He wore a pair last year to daycare, and in the nap room stood up, and danced around. Needless to say, Miss Kimmy asked us not to wear them again...

Eli got to wear a pair of Leo's old jammies. I was putting them on him and telling him that they were John Deere. He started saying, in what I think is his best British accent, "John D." He was so silly, Jus had to take a picture of him. We are trying to get a video, but he's not being so cooperative :).

Our sillies with their crazy jammies. :)

B-E-A-R-C-A-T-S!
Bearcats! Bearcats! Goooo Bearcats!
Well, we've about made the rounds now on visiting colleges. Leo has been begging to go and visit Nate "way down south" to see him play football. I was very excited to take him down. (A special thanks to my in-laws for keeping E for the weekend!)
Leo, "the girls" and I left on Friday to drive down. The Tahoe was full with Amy, Sherri, Sabrina, Ivy, Leo and myself. :) You should see everything Sabrina brought ~ I mean, Leo hardly brought anything! Ha! It was interesting to try to get out of the vehicle. We made it down safely, and Leo got to play with Blitz before we went back to the hotel. We crashed in Amy's room that night. She did a group devotional (actually, she shouted it to us in our room of the suite, while Ivy whined because she wanted to sleep...) and Leo was so wired! I think he fell asleep around midnight, and was up at 5:00 asking what time it was because we didn't have a clock. We got up around 7 and headed down to breakfast.
We went early to a sporting goods store to get Leo a Bearcat hat. He was so excited! He took his picture by Bobby Bearcat. Unfortunately, I have the picture on my phone and can't figure out how to get it on the computer. Any suggestions?
We were ready for tailgating around 10. The other carload of people got "down south" around then. Greg, Scott, Justin, Hunter and Tirzah were a bit sleepy from their early morning drive. :)
We set up and started eating. Leo kept talking about how excited he was to go to the "party" and the game. He was loving eating all the junk food before the game.

Leo loved chillin' with Hunter. :)

Amy felt bad for him, so she and Sabrina took him to the inflatables. Leo was in heaven!

Before we went into the game, we went and watched the band play, found beads, watched the cheerleaders and Greg bought Leo and Eli buttons. Thanks, Greg! Soon it was time to find our seats. Leo was loving watching the band and the game. He wanted to take a picture of Nate in his "outfit". ;) Can you find #21? (Side note... everyone was asking Leo what number Nate was. His answer became, "21, duh!")

Leo got a little restless in the 4th quarter, so Jus (being dad of the year) took him to the playground that is right next to the football field. He enjoyed playing there for the remainder of the game. But after the game, he was so excited to go and see Nate on the field! He thought he was pretty big stuff to get to go on the field. He ran around like he owned the place! Nate tried to get Leo to put on his helmet, but he said it smelled stinky!

After the game we headed back to our tailgating, and continued to snack. Leo was into the Cheetos. Even after they fell on the ground...

You'll have to ask Sabrina about the two handed brownies. It was something I missed, thank goodness!
We went out to eat, went swimming and went to bed. The next day we went to Nate's and Leo got to play with Blitz. Leo did such a great job on the trip. He traveled well, and was so well behaved. He keeps asking when we get to go back!

"I Always Wanna Be a Bearcat! Ooo! Ahh!"

College {Stay-cation}
This weekend we were going to go up north to visit Brenda at college. Plans changed and we decided to have a "college stay-cation".
Brenda came home on Friday, and stopped over after the football game. It was so fun to have her back in town and sitting on my couch. :) The boys were long in bed before she came, so they didn't get to see her on Friday. I told her it was stupid for us to drive up north to see her dorm and go to the football game since she was already home. She agreed and we made plans to hang out on Saturday.
She came over after nap, and the boys were so excited to see her! Well, E might have given her the look at first, but by the time she left he was a flirting machine. :) Brenda picked out these jerseys for the boys. Aren't they cute? (Just don't tell Uncle Eric... it is his rival college!)

Brenda also sat with us at church on Sunday. I'm sure she never will again... if she's like me, she gets nothing out of church when the boys are there. I can't wait until I can listen again!
It was a great college "stay-cation". Thanks for coming to visit, Brenda! We will come and see you soon! Love ya!
**Oh, sad day! I don't have one picture of her with the boys. Guess next time we get together!

Hospital Fair
On Friday after we'd been to the grocery store, Leo saw the train sitting outside he community building. Oh, how he wanted a ride! I told him we could go on Saturday morning, because the train was at the hospital fair.
Well, the fair wasn't the boys cup of tea. I got to walk around in about 2.3 minutes, and then we had to go outside and ride the train. When our turn was over, I thought for sure E would give me a fit and cry. However, E was very well behaved! Unfortuneatly, Leo on the other hand, was VERY upset! So it goes, I guess!
Aren't my fall boys so cute?
