21 Months Going on 7 Years

When I left home yesterday for an incredibly long day of school and conferences, I left my 21 month old little Leo. When I came home for my little break...

Look what I found....

Where is my baby? This boy looks like he is seven, and I should be going to conferences to hear about him!

A few weeks ago, when Jus and I got back from church, Amy told me that she almost cut his hair. I told her that I'd tried to get an appointment but it would be two weeks. She said, "Well, that's just my polite way of saying he needs his hair cut." Point taken, Am! Do you like the new 'do?

One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed!

Leo has now mastered "jumping" on the bed. (Technically it is just a mattress on the floor. That's where we sleep when one of us is sick, 'cause it's too cold in the basement! Thankfully, we haven't had to use it much this winter! Knock on wood...) So anyway, Leo loves to run up the the bed and jump, jump, jump!

That kid cracks me up I tell you!

Give This Boy a Puppy!

Seriously, Don't! He's allergic (and Julie, I don't care what you say about your white fluffs...they'd make us sneeze!).

Look at these sweet pictures of lil' Leo. Every day when we get home from school/work/daycare, he always has to watch the neighbor's puppies go outside.

His eyes just barely look over the edge of the window.

He likes to stand on his tip-toes and rest his chin on the ledge. It is so cute!

**But NOT sweet enough to make us want a puppy...

Baby-palooza!

What a difference 5 babies make!

A few summers ago if you would have asked Alyssa, Elizabeth & I what we'd be doing on Valentine's weekend, I doubt any of us would have said "hanging out with our kids." But, that's what we did tonight!

A little background: Justin is so very fortunate to work at DGR and work with wonderful people. That is how we met Tim & Alyssa and Dan & Elizabeth. The boys played slow pitch softball together for a few summers, and we (the girls) were always there to support them... ;) We all wanted children, our timing is just a little off for them to all be classmates. I guess we'll settle for schoolmates!

We hadn't been able to meet Parker because of Leo's germy self. He's finally over his cough/cold/yucky stuff, so we invited everyone over. When I say everyone, I should explain that includes 6 adults and 5 (yes, 5) children. I was a little nervous that Leo would go a little crazying playing basketball, but he was so good with them.

He sat & played by the boys with the Leapfrog table. He only stole Aria's pink paci one time! (Um, Elizabeth, sorry about that one...)

Here are the four older "babies" playing on the floor. Parker was busy eating his dinner. :)

Not to be out done by Levi, who likes to talk, Leo had to show off his scream...

David was having a snack, but here's a shot of a few: Justin is holding Parker, Leo (duh!), Tim is holding Levi, and Alyssa is holding Aria.

Parker's bedtime was a little earlier than the older kids. Here they are on the couch, posing in their jammies. (Aria, Levi, Leo & David) Leo was mad because we took his paci.

As everyone was leaving tonight, we all said, "We need to do this again." And honestly, we do. Elizabeth, Alyssa, when are we doing this again!?!?!

And It Begins...

I know this may sound a little silly coming from me, because I love to watch TV when I have a chance, but I really like to limit Leo's time watching. He gets 1/2 hour a day...Wheel of Fortune.

Well, we (mostly Justin) have been getting a little lackadaisical on the 1/2 hour rule. This is what I found the other morning...

How will he get into an Ivy League school watching cartoons all day?!!?

Let the Dipping Begin

We gave Leo chicken fingers the other day with ketchup and ranch. He started dipping...and loved it! (as you can see...)

A few days later, Leo was eating mac & cheese, while Justin was eating chicken fingers. He saw the ketchup and wanted it for his food too. Can you say gross?

We may have to start working on his aim...

Snow Day!

Last weekend we had very nice weather for NWI. It was so warm that Jus & I didn't have to wear our coats! We bundled Leo in Gavin's old snowsuit, and let him have his first snow adventure.

Well...he thought it was ok to walk in it, but when I tried to have him make a snow angel...I had another thing coming! He didn't think it was cool to lay down.

Notice our sweatshirts...Daddy loves Iowa, Mommy loves Minnesota. Who will Leo love? (Hopefully NOT Nebraska!)

We had to walk over to the neighbors and see if the puppies were outside. Leo can sit on my lap at the computer and stare across the street to the neighbors and see the puppies sitting on the top of the couch. (Sorry Rachelle if he is a window stalker. He just loves your dogs!)

He finally stopped running up the sidewalk to sit and enjoy the snow. He thought it was pretty fun. :)

Although the snow is fun, we are ready for it to melt! Spring...here we come!
