Where Do I Fit?

We are into summer vacation! Yeah us! Yesterday Leo went to daycare while I had a meeting at CL. I moved all of the "stuff" I had from GLR there. Thank goodness for the 4th graders, or I would have been there for 6 hours. Leo fell asleep for his nap all on his own! I am so proud of that little guy. We are working on one nap a day, and slowly, he seems to be adjusting.

Last night I went with some friends to the premiere of "Sex and the City." It was a pretty funny movie, but it made me think a lot. It had a lot to do with change, and a lot of that is happening at our house again. Yes, I cried like a baby in the theatre. Thank goodness it was dark! I guess the only thing you can really count on is change. Hopefully all the changes being made are for the better.

Back to my Leo Beo. His new favorite toy is a rubber ball. He will bat that thing around and chase it everywhere. He has now mastered going up the step from the family room to the kitchen. Going down is another story. He kind of puts his arms out like he is going to dive, and then slides down and rolls on his side. It looks a little like when I try to dive into the swimming pool. Maybe he's already learned that from me - poor kid! He also loves to crawl into tight spots. In the pictures he is in his basket of toys and under his "saucy." I can only imagine him crawling up into trees and other dangerous places as he gets older. Heaven help the hoovering mother.

News at 11 Months

Leo Randall:
20 lbs. 13 oz.
30 3/4" long
Even cuter with his curls (from his MOTHER, mind you...)

Leo Beo was 11 months old yesterday. Hard to believe in one short month he will be 1 year old. I am still having trouble finding a present for him, let alone plates, napkins, cups, etc. Can you hire someone to plan a party for you? I'm starting to think that's a good idea...

Anyway, back to news. Yesterday our friends, Dan & Elizabeth, welcomed David, Aria and Levi into the world. Yep, triplets! They are all doing well, breathing on their own and are so cute. They also have a blog; if anyone is interested, let me know.

Here are pictures from yesterday. I've been pretty good about taking pictures of Leo, on his blue blanket, with his lion, the 28th of every month. This month he was a little squirmy. Oh well, what a story to tell him when he is older. :)

Aunt Merla is Going to Get Huffy...

My poor little Leo got his very first and second bite at daycare today. Yep, the biter (Leo's best friend) struck not once, but twice on Leo's chubby little arms. The first one he didn't really complain, but his teacher told me the second one was a different story. He let the whole building know that he was in pain. Yikes! The marks are bruising, and you can see the outline of every little tooth. Ouch!

Leo's been biting me at home, not Justin, not my mom, not anyone else, just me; I thought for sure he'd be the biter not the "bitee". His teacher told me that it won't be long until Leo gives his friend a bite too. Revenge is sweet...
I don't need to explain the title to my avid readers (my mom, my sister, a couple of friends, and that's about it...), but just in case you happened upon the story of Leo let me explain the title. My Aunt Merla is my dad's sister; her husband is also Leo. :) Anyway, my nephew, Gavin, was getting bit at school by a little boy named Derek, and he told Auntie Merla. Well, she told Gavin that she would get "huffy" with Derek, and that would be a really bad deal. So, Auntie Merla, it's time to get "huffy" with Leo's friend.

In Case There Was Any Doubt

In case anyone had a doubt that Leo was my son, check out those natural curls! Yes, that's right, one of the traits that I despise, I now love in my son. He will grow to hate them as well, but for now I can sing~ "La, La, La, He looks like me!!!"

You Are So Cute, Mystery Baby in the Mirror

You are so cute Mystery Baby. Who you are, will we ever know? Um...Leo, that's you peanut-butter!

As you can see, Leo is a little narcissistic. He thinks he's pretty darn cute (well, he is, isn't he?!?!), and he likes to pound, slap, hug and kiss the "Mystery Baby" in the mirror!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub, Leo's in the Tub

I gotta say, I love bath pictures. There is something about babies in their "nakieness" that I think is so darn cute. I love Leo's bath time. He loves to hear the songs we sing, play with the toys and splash in the water. If only I had real earplugs for him instead of cotton balls. Any ideas where to get some that stick in his ears for the tub and pool?

This One's for You Shae!

A few months ago Melia was telling me about how her niece, Shae, liked to suck on her paci (or pipe as they call it). Shae loved to turn it upside down. Many people would try to turn it in her mouth to "help" her, but she'd just flip it around. For Melia's mom's birthday (Karen btw), we went out to dinner, and Shae tried to "help" Leo with his paci, by putting it upside down. He wanted nothing to do with that...until recently...so here you go Shae, another upside-downer like you!

A New Tradition

Can a tradition be new if you just start it? Or is it just a tradition? Hmm...something to ponder in my free time.

Well, back to the tradition. I wanted to start it last year when I was pregnant with Leo, but when we got outside to take the picture, the wind had blown off the flower blossoms; the wind that came along with the snow, mind you. So scratch that picture. I guess we will wait until the baby is here.

He's here, and so were the flower blossoms. These bushes are just one of the reasons that I love our house. When we first put in an offer on the house three years ago, we went for a bike ride past the front. The bushes were in full bloom, and I thought it was a sign that we needed to have this house. I guess God thought so too!

So to start/continue this tradition I made Justin come and take a few pictures of Leo and I outside. I had to pull him away from watching the Twins, so I really, really appreciated it Jus! :) Enjoy the pics!

A Little Late

Leo's 10 month statistics are a couple weeks late. Oops...It's not like I've been busy or anything!

He is 29 3/4 inches tall.

He weighs 19 lbs. 10 oz.

He is still way too cute for charts, and now is more mobile than I was prepared for!

Leo and Sabrina Sitting in a Tree...

"You better be good to my Sabrina," Leo warned Nate, "and have her home early!"

Well, you know how that one continues. Leo's love, Sabrina, had prom a few weeks ago, and as you can see from the pictures, she looked beautiful! He was definitely in love that night. His heart did have a little ache though, Sabrina took her other boyfriend, Nate, to the prom, 'cause Leo's bedtime is too early for her!
