Leo Picasso

We repainted Leo's room this past week, and left a pencil in his room. Amy had stopped over to help me hang a few new pictures, and said, "Leo, why don't you give Daddy your pencil before you write on the wall."

Amy and Ivy headed home, and Jus and I hung the pictures. After we'd hung 2 we heard this strange scratching noise...

Upon investigation, we found our little Leo Picasso drawing on the hallway walls (yes, plural).

There are some beautiful pictures...He made a star perfectly. Oh, lucky us.

He was crying and feeling bad (mostly that we took the pencil away, if you ask me...). Jus took him into the living room, and had him say he was sorry. Two seconds later he was ready to play, and was looking for the pencil.

Oh, Leo Picasso...we love you, and your artwork!

Bam!

I think we've got ourselves an Emeril!

Leo helped me make our homemade pizza tonight. Every time he put a pepperoni on the pizza, he had to yell, "Bam!" (Of course, I didn't encourage this at all... ;))

He would giggle and reach for more. Once he got so excited he almost tipped off his chair!

Slow it down tiger!

He was pretty good about aiming in an area that didn't have any pepperoni, and if one did happen to land on the other, he'd "patiently" wait for me to move it.

You see, my boy, who is all boy in every other area of life, is not boyish about getting his hands dirty. (He's kind of like his daddy...) So the second his hands have a little pizza sauce on them, he cries and wipes them on his shirt (Hence, no white shirts at our house.). So the cheese mixing with the pepperoni was not good for him. He didn't want them to mix, so he started to pick up the cheese.

Messy hands, here I come! :)

Leo would have nothing to do with it once he realized what was happening. He's so silly! His finished creation with all the extra "bams!"

I don't have to worry about him eating the toppings off of the pizza, cause they touch and he might get dirty! (I guess he gets that from me, kind of. I hate when my food touches other foods. Thank goodness for separated plates at the school!)

I don't know if you see the extra ingredient Leo adds to all of the things he helps me make. Look closely at his chin... :)

*Something very exciting is coming soon! Leo's room has had an extreme make-over. Stay tuned!

A Tradition Continues

Last year I was spending my free time pondering whether or not this was a tradition or something new. Well, now I know the answer. I just had to wait a year to figure it out!

This year, however, we don't have as many pictures. I can't remember there being so many bumble bees flying around MY bushes. What on earth do they think they are doing? (Yes, I get that they have to pollinate them so that they actually look this beautiful. I didn't miss all of my science lessons.) I was so scared we were going to get stung. I think Leo knew something was funny with those bugs, cause we wouldn't stop looking at them! I didn't like them either, Baby Boy!
So we had to quick sit and dash. Notice the two outfits. It's crazy to see how much Leo's grown since last May.

Also worth noting, I need a hair cut in both year's pictures. That must be my May tradition as well! :)

Oh Boy...

It's gonna be a LOOONG summer if he does this every time we have to come in!

The BIG Slide

So here is my 1 year old, who is BRAVE by the way, climbing up the BIG slide. And when I say big I don't mean wide. It is so very tall. I think you can practically see heaven from the top step.

Justin and Leo went to the park on Saturday while I was at Sabrina's track meet. (She did great!) He called me to tell me they had a good time at the park. Jus asked if I'd ever taken Leo there on the slides. There is a little dinky one (a GREAT size for a 1 year old!) which I'd let him slide down. He said, "No, how about the big twisty one?" I said I went down with him once. Justin continued to say he let Leo go up and down this slide by himself "about 80 times."

Justin followed him up the steps, which means there was nobody there to catch him. Even Scott didn't think this was a great idea! There were other people there who commented, "Wow! You've got a brave on there. How old is he now 3 or 4?" Um...NO...He's only 1! I don't think they thought it was such a great idea either!

So today Jus said I had to go and watch for myself. I thought taking a video would help me out. I wouldn't be as nervous. I really wasn't. Look at his cheesy smile as he comes down the slide.

I guess this summer I'll be the one who has to learn to be brave.
