Dear Mr. Postman,

You may have to deliver the letters to the temporary mailbox for a few months...
A man backed into our mailbox this morning, and the boys are crushed! Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.

Calling All Rednecks

It's our county fair, and we decided to take the boys to the figure 8 races. If you haven't been to the races, well, it's loud, dirty, and all the crazies come out. Just kidding - a few stay home. It was a little warmish but nearly 20 degrees cooler than the weekend. We conned Melia into coming with us. She's a good sport. :)
The boys pretty much reacted like I expected. Leo thought it was cool, buuuut, he was afraid of the loud noises, so we spent the entire night covering his ears. Eli thought everything was awesome, except when the ladies drove. He didn't like them and would whine until the men were driving again. Silly boy! A great time was had by all, and we will be rednecks and go back again, I'm sure.

Chilling Off {Sprinkler Style}

After we got back from being "down south", I figured we'd hit a cool down. Yeah, not exactly. It was the same temp here. So Jus decided to let the boys help him fix the sprinkler system. They "helped" by getting on their suits and running around crazy.
Then the big red ball came into the picture. I told them it wasn't a good idea, that someone would get hurt, and be the new million dollar man - but who listens to their mom, right?!? Apparently, this time I was wrong. Now, I know what you are thinking - No way, Sara is never wrong! I know. I was shocked too, believe me. They made it through an hour of playing - and by playing I mean running, diving head first and bouncing off- the ball.
Jus says, "Alls well, that ends well." Hmmm...I might be letting the air out of the ball...

Gavin's Birthday Party

I'm not sure that anyone understands how completely hot it is this summer. Is it just here or is it everywhere? I feel like I'm going to have a heat stroke for being outside for 5 minutes. It's terrible! So what do we do to beat the heat? We travel 6 hours SOUTH to an even hotter area of the country. Thinkers we are! Gavin turned 7 this past week, and we headed down to see them. For his party we ended up going to a professional baseball game. In the 110 degree heat, we had the kids bat, eat, run the bases, ride the merry-go-round, and drink lots of water. Both boys did really well sitting there. Eli only had to go out a few times to walk around. Luckily, we were in the shade so it wasn't to terrible, but I think each of us needed a shower to drop our body temps back to normal! Enjoy the picture show! Leo & Katelynn
